Position Summary:

The Associate Director of Marketing will play a pivotal leadership role in driving strategic marketing initiatives and overseeing the performance of a team of three Marketing Managers. This position is responsible for aligning marketing strategies with organizational goals, fostering collaboration across teams, and ensuring the successful execution of campaigns that enhance brand visibility, student engagement, and enrollment outcomes.

 

The ideal candidate is a seasoned marketing professional with a proven track record in higher education or education technology marketing. They possess strong leadership skills, strategic thinking capabilities, and the ability to translate data-driven insights into impactful marketing strategies.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership
    • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to support enrollment growth and brand positioning for the organization.
    • Collaborate with senior leadership to align marketing efforts with institutional priorities and long-term goals.
    • Lead market research initiatives to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive positioning.
  • Team Management
    • Directly manage and mentor three Marketing Managers, providing guidance on campaign planning, execution, and performance optimization.
    • Foster a collaborative team environment that encourages innovation, accountability, and professional growth.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews and set clear goals for team members.
  • Campaign Oversight
    • Oversee the development and execution of industry-specific marketing campaigns, ensuring consistency in branding and messaging.
    • Monitor campaign performance metrics (e.g., lead generation, conversion rates) and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
    • Ensure compliance with university branding guidelines and regulatory standards across all marketing efforts.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Serve as the primary liaison between the marketing team and internal/external stakeholders, including university faculty, program directors, and external vendors.
    • Present campaign results, insights, and strategic recommendations to leadership and key stakeholders.
    • Build strong relationships with campus partners to ensure alignment on program goals.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Manage portions of the overall marketing budget for assigned portfolios, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
    • Oversee the creation of creative briefs for campaigns and materials developed by internal teams or external agencies.
    • Drive continuous improvement by leveraging data analytics to refine strategies and optimize ROI.

 

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience & Skills:

  • 8–10 years of progressive experience in marketing roles, ideally within higher education or education technology sectors.
  • At least 3 years of experience managing a team of marketing professionals.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing data-driven marketing strategies.
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience in coaching and mentoring teams.
  • Expertise in digital marketing channels (SEO/SEM, social media, email marketing) and analytics tools (Google Analytics, CRM platforms).
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
